The Xpedition is Polaris's heaviest, most loaded-up UTV platform β and weight is the CVT clutch's enemy. Every pound of cargo, every degree of incline, every thousand feet of elevation adds stress to the belt and primary engagement. The stock clutch handles it well enough in average conditions, but serious Xpedition use β pack-in elk hunts at 8,000 feet with a 600-pound load, multi-day overlanding with a full roof setup and cooler β pushes the stock CVT into belt-slipping territory. DuraClutch's constant belt pinch mechanism eliminates the slip that degrades stock belts under load, and the tunable flyweight and compression spring system lets you match the engagement curve to your specific machine setup. For riders running larger-diameter tires (33" or above) at elevation, the L2 and L3 calibration kits are specifically built for those conditions β something the stock clutch simply cannot address.
The calibration number (44G, 39G, 35G, 31G) refers to the flyweight calibration tuned for a specific tire size and elevation combination. The Stock 44G is the starting point for OEM or near-OEM tire sizes at lower elevations. As you move to taller tires or higher elevation, the clutch needs a lighter calibration to maintain proper engagement RPM and avoid belt slip β that's what the L1, L2, and L3 designations address. If you're between categories (for example, 32" tires at 6,000 feet), the general rule is to prioritize elevation over tire size and choose the higher elevation calibration. DuraClutch's VIN search tool at duraclutch.com can also confirm your exact application. Q: Does DuraClutch fit the Xpedition 5 (5-seat) models?
A: Yes. The DuraClutch RXL kits (15-636 through 15-639) fit all MY24β26 Xpedition models β XP, ADV, XP 5, and ADV 5. The clutch system is the same across the 2-seat and 5-seat variants.
Q: I run 33" tires on my Xpedition at around 4,000' elevation β which kit?
A: Kit 15-637 (L1 39G) is the right fit. The L1 calibration covers 33" tires at 0β5,000' elevation. If you're at or above 5,000', move to 15-638 (L2 35G).
Q: Should I add the clutch blower to my Xpedition kit?
A: The DuraClutch blower ($268) pulls additional cooling air through the clutch housing and is strongly recommended for Xpedition owners who run in dusty conditions, spend extended time at elevation, or regularly carry heavy loads. At elevation, the thinner air already reduces cooling efficiency β adding load on top of that makes the blower worth the investment. Bundling it with your kit also saves on shipping.
